Sleep vs. Rest

It's a common mistake to think that sleep and rest is the same thing.  Good news is you're reading this.  Sleeping is the act of just that, closing your eyes and shutting down.  While resting involves very magical things such as cell regeneration, muscle tone, weight loss, healthier pregnancy and shorter labor, etc etc etc., just to name a few.  There's a lot of scientific stuff about why proper rest is so important, but in a nutshell "(without enough rest) you wreck your ability to learn and remember, increase your chance of stroke and heart attack, set yourself up for colds, mess up your skin and set yourself to gain weight, quickly and reliably.". It's ok if you're suffering from any of these.

I want to emphasize in EATING and resting of course. :)

Resting is awesome, but please, stop eating and falling asleep right away!  This causes so many health problems including and not limiting to insomnia, gastritis, ulcers, esophaguitis, and not to forget about contributing to diabetes and HBP. Worse than that, I KNOW you're not late-munching on a home made whole grain granola. :|

Good news again, it's easy to develop the discipline of not eating late.  Start with 1/2hr and go at your pace, remember, you don't need to stress about this.  If you're craving food, drink water.  This will help you wake up hungry for your high-protein breakfast.  Keep adding 1/2hr until you stop eating 2hrs before going to sleep.  Remember to keep adding whole grain products to your grocery list and replacing your refined ones such as white refined sugar.  :)

Include in your grocery list essential oils.  You can use this aromatherapy for your dog too, yay!
